The first episode of YoteCast season five, the official podcast of South Dakota athletics hosted by the voice of the Coyotes, John Thayer, is live. The season opener is bittersweet as athletic director David Herbster bids adieu to Coyote athletics after 16 years of service to the University.

New episodes of YoteCast debut weekly at noon on Thursdays. This episode debuted a day early due to South Dakota's football season opener versus Missouri on Thursday, Aug. 31.

Thayer is in his 11th year with Coyote Sports Network by Learfield. He moved into the play-by-play role for Coyote football and men's basketball in 2020 after spending seven years as the voice of Coyote women's basketball and as a sideline reporter for football.
