VERMILLION, S.D. — The 2025 University of South Dakota football schedule was announced on Tuesday morning. The Coyotes will play six games in front of the home crowd inside the DakotaDome, highlighted by the home opener on September 13 against Northern Colorado and hosting the Jackrabbits on November 8.
 
South Dakota will open the 2025 campaign with a trip to central Iowa to battle the Iowa State Cyclones on August 30.
 
Following the first two weeks of the season being on the road, the Coyotes will open the home slate on September 13 when the Bears of Northern Colorado, out of the Big Sky, visits the Dome.
 
For the second-straight season, USD will host the Drake Bulldogs in Vermillion on September 20 to conclude non-conference play. The Coyotes are 4-0 against Drake since the turn of the century.
 
Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) play will begin with a trip to Fargo, North Dakota to battle the Bison of North Dakota State in the final weekend of September (Sept. 27).

The following week, October 4, Murray State will come to Vermillion for 2025 Dakota Days and the MVFC home opener.
 
Following a two-week road trip, the Coyotes will return to the DakotaDome for three-straight weeks when Illinois State, North Dakota, and South Dakota State, respectively, all make the trek to Vermillion.
 
The regular season will conclude on November 15 when the Yotes make the trip to Carbondale, Illinois to face the Southern Illinois Salukis.
 
The Valley schedule below was updated in August (2024) after announcement of Missouri State leaving the league to move up to the FBS level.
