VERMILLION, S.D. — South Dakota volleyball's Barrett Power has been selected for the AVCA Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association Wednesday afternoon.
 
Power was one of 18 up-and-coming volleyball coaches that were selected for the scholarship, and the program's funds will help cover registration and hotel costs at the AVCA Convention. The Convention takes places in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 18-22. The NCAA National Semifinals and Championship matches will be played inside the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville on December 19 and 22.
 
"One of the best things throughout my college career has been all the coaches who have invested in me as a person and in growing me as a future coach," said Power. "This opportunity is a testament to that. Attending the AVCA Convention will allow me to continue learning from the best and connect with coaches from all over the country, putting me one step closer to finding my first coaching opportunity. I am humbled, grateful, and so excited to receive this scholarship and begin my coaching career."
 
The scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to network with successful coaches from all levels and take part in a diverse group of educational opportunities that make this an annual can't-miss event.
 
"I am so excited for Barrett! This is an amazing opportunity for her as she begins her next chapter in the coaching world," said head coach Leanne Williamson. "When we went through the recruiting process with her, we knew that she was interested in coaching. After spending the past year with her, I have no doubt that she is going to impact the volleyball world in many ways!"
 
Power joined the Coyotes as a graduate transfer after spending the previous four seasons at Colorado State. The Lincoln, Nebraska native has appeared in 53 sets for the Yotes in 18 matches.
