VERMILLION, S.D. — The South Dakota volleyball team will head to Europe on June 10-21 for an 11-day trip through Spain and Portugal where the team will play in three matches alongside sightseeing experiences throughout each stop.
 
"We are beyond excited for the opportunity to travel abroad next summer! This is the first time our program will be taking our team overseas to see other parts of this world while also getting the opportunity to train and play against volleyball teams in different countries," said head coach Leanne Williamson. "Not only is this a great opportunity for our team to get some additional training this summer, but it is also an opportunity for our team to continuing building relationships off the court. We cannot thank USD and our Athletic Administration enough for making this trip a reality for our program."
 
The Coyotes will visit five cities throughout their stay in Barcelona, Soria, Madrid, Nazare and Lisbon. South Dakota will play three matches during its stay, but opponents, dates and times for those matches are still to be determined. In addition to the three matches, the Coyotes will enjoy a variety of sightseeing activities and tours during each stop during the trip.
 
The team will be granted an additional 10 days of practice leading up to the departure. The Coyotes incoming 2025 recruiting class will be joining the Yotes on the trip and will have the opportunity to train with the team leading up to departure.
