VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota women's soccer signs one player to their Class of 2025 on Signing Day Wednesday. Head Coach Michael Thomas is excited to welcome Elsa Nygren to the Coyotes.
 
Nygren (Westminster, Colo.) played for the Colorado Edge Soccer Club as well as her high school of Jefferson Academy.
 
She earned all-state honors this fall with the Jaguars and was all-conference in 2023 and 2024. She also earned all-conference honorable mention in 2022. Off the pitch, Nygren received all-conference honors three times on the hardwood and was an all-state honorable mention las season. On the track, she has qualified for the state meet in the 4x100 and 4x200-relays three times and earned all-state honorable mention last spring.
 
A three-time Gold Honor Roll recipient from Jefferson Academy, Nygren plans to major in Kinesiology & Sport Management at USD starting this fall.
