VERMILLION, S.D. — The University of South Dakota football team (9-2, 7-1 MVFC) earned the No. 4-seed in the 2024 NCAA FCS Playoffs, as announced by the FCS Championship Committee Sunday morning on ESPNU.
 
The Coyotes will play the winner of No. 13-seed Tarleton State (9-3, 6-2 UAC) and Drake (8-2, 7-1 Pioneer). That game will be played in Stephenville, Texas on the campus of Tarleton State University this upcoming Saturday, November 30 at 2:00 p.m. (CT) on ESPN+.
 
The winner of Tarleton State and Drake will travel to the DakotaDome the following Saturday, December 7 with the game slated for a 2:00 p.m. (CT) kickoff on ESPN+. More information will come upon availability, posted to the football schedule page on GoYotes.com and the football social channels.
 
The 2024 Playoff seeding comes following the thrilling 29-28 fourth quarter comeback over No. 1-ranked North Dakota State Saturday night in the DakotaDome, securing a share of the 2024 Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) title.
 
The Coyotes are one of four MVFC teams to earn a berth to the 2024 FCS Playoffs. North Dakota State (No. 2-seed) and South Dakota State (No. 3-seed) both also secure top-4 seeds in this year's field. Illinois State also earns an at-large bid with the No. 12-seed, bringing the Valley teams up to four.

On Wednesday (Nov. 27) at noon, season ticket holders who have not yet purchased Second Round Playoff tickets, their seats will be opened to the general public.
