Farris collects second straight Peak Performer of the Week honor

11.05.2024

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — For the second straight week, South Dakota volleyball's Kamryn Farris was named the Summit League's Defensive Peak Performer of the Week. It's Farris' second time collecting the award this season and third time in her career.

For the second straight week, Farris averaged over five digs per set, totaling 36 digs over seven sets (5.14/set) across a pair of Coyote wins. Farris extended her double-digit dig streak to 20 matches as she totaled 17 in a four-set win over North Dakota Thursday, and tallied 19 in the Yotes Senior Day sweep over Oral Roberts Saturday afternoon. Farris also dished out 12 assists over the two games and tallied three aces.

"Kamryn is playing some of her best volleyball right now," said head coach Leanne Williamson. "She is defending a large part of the court and making it hard for attackers to score! She continues to be a student of the game and I am excited to see what else she can accomplish the remainder of the season!"

Entering this week's slate of games, Farris ranks second among Summit League players in digs with 416 and digs per set at 4.62. Farris ranks 45th and 52nd in the NCAA in those categories.

Farris and the Coyotes will head up I-29 for their only match of the week against North Dakota State on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Fargo, N.D.
