LEXINGTON, Ky. — South Dakota volleyball's
Kylen Sealock and
Kamryn Farris were named AVCA Northwest All-Region Honorable Mentions Tuesday morning as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Sealock and Farris were both named to the Summit League All-League Team, and Farris was named the Summit League Defensive Player of the Year. They both played pivotal roles in helping the Coyotes capture their fifth Summit League Tournament Championship in the last seven years and earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Sealock was named also named the conference's tournament MVP, while Farris landed on the all-tournament team.

Sealock ended her career as a Coyote with 835 kills, 49 aces, 358 digs and 119 blocks. She ranked second in the conference in her senior season with 417 kills, which set a new single-season career best. Her kills total and 3.56 kills per set average were the most by a Coyote. Sealock played some of the best volleyball of her career in the second half of the season, notching double-digit kills in 15 of her final 16 matches. Sealock averaged 15.4 kills per match over that stretch of play and had four matches with a hitting percentage above .300.
Sealock was on fire during the Coyotes Summit League Tournament title run, as she led the way in a pair of Coyote sweeps over Kansas City and Omaha. Sealock had 12 kills on a .455 swing rate against the Roos and followed that up with 11 kills at a .409 clip against the Mavericks. With a trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line, Sealock put away a career-high 23 kills at a .286 clip with three blocks as the Coyotes won a five-set thriller over South Dakota State in the championship match.
The conference's defensive player of the year, Farris, ended the season with a conference leading 565 digs. Her 4.75 digs per set average was second in the conference, and her 46 service aces were the most in the league. Farris tallied double-digit digs in all but two matches, hit the 20-dig mark 11 times and had 30 or more three times. Farris set a new career-best and a South Dakota four-set match record with 38 digs against St. Thomas on November 14. Farris had 16 matches on the season with multiple aces and four with three or more. She hit the 1,000-career dig mark earlier this season on October 22 against SDSU and will enter her senior season with 1,255.
In the Yotes conference tournament opening sweep of Kansas City, Farris tallied 22 digs, five assists and three service aces and had nine digs with two aces in a sweep of Omaha in the semifinals. In the title match, Farris recorded her first career double-double with 30 digs and a career-high 13 assists.
