SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota's Alaina Wolff and Avery Van Hook were named to the 2024 Summit League Academic All-League Team Thursday afternoon, as announced by the conference.
 
The two Coyotes are among seven honored by the Summit League for maintaining a 3.3 cumulative GPA while also participating in over 50 percent of their team's matches throughout the 2024 season.
 
Wolff, a graduate student from Jackson, Minnesota, held a 3.97 undergraduate GPA while earning a degree in general studies and carries a 4.0 graduate GPA while studying communications. Wolff appeared in all 31 matches for the Yotes and totaled 275 digs with a 2.31 digs per set average. Wolff tallied 19 service aces on the year and had 26 assists as a DS. She notched her 1,000 career dig on October 24 in a 3-1 South Dakota win over Denver at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. This is Wolff's second consecutive year being named to the academic all-league team.
 
Van Hook, a sophomore from Marion, Iowa, carries a 3.95 GPA in kinesiology and sport management. Van Hook dished out 1,208 assists in her second season as a Coyote and held a 10.24 assists per set average. Van Hook led the Summit League in both categories and was the only conference setter to average double-digit assists per set. Van Hook hit the 2,000 career assist mark earlier this season in the Yotes Summit League Tournament Quarterfinals 3-0 win over Kansas City. Van Hook was also named a Summit League All-League Honorable Mention and was named to the conference's all-tournament team.

Nominations are brought forth by sports information directors from the league's nine institutions and voting is conducted by both the SIDs and facility athletic representatives (FARs). The team is made up of the seven student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
