The Game
South Dakota women's basketball hosts Omaha for a game at 6 p.m. Thursday inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion, South Dakota.
The game will be live streamed on the Summit League Network available via the Midco Sports Plus app. Fans can also tune into the game on the Coyote Sports Network with Jerry Palleschi on KVTK 101.5 in Yankton/Vermillion or by using the Varsity Network app.
The Coyotes
South Dakota (17-8, 6-4) is coming off one of its best games of the season in a 78-48 road win at Denver. The Coyotes shot at a 54 percent clip for the game and made 50 percent (12-of-24) from behind the arc. USD nearly doubled up DU on the boards and held the Pioneers to 22 percent (6-of-27) from behind the arc and just 48 total points. The same Pioneer squad had scored 102 points in the game prior. Four Coyotes scored in double-figures last Thursday for the first time in conference action and nine players made a basket.
Junior guard
Grace Larkins ranks in the top-five of the league for scoring, rebounding and assists for the second-straight year. She's one of three players in the country averaging 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists on the season.
The Mavericks
Omaha (5-19, 1-10) is one of the best teams in the country at getting to the charity stripe. The Mavericks are third nationally in free-throws attempted and second nationally in free-throws made per game (17.9). Grace Cave averages a team-best 80.3 percent from the stripe.
Three of the Mavericks' last four games have been determined by five points or less. Omaha also took the Coyotes to overtime in a New Year's Eve meeting at Baxter Arena.
The Series
South Dakota has won 13 straight against UNO to hold a 55-35 advantage in the series.
