Coyotes host Tommies for annual Pink Game

The Game

South Dakota women's basketball hosts St. Thomas for a game at 6 p.m. Saturday inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion, South Dakota.

The game will be broadcast by Midco Sports with play-by-play from Darron Wallace and color commentary by Freddy Coleman. That broadcast will also be available on the Summit League Network available via the Midco Sports Plus app. Fans can also tune into the game on the Coyote Sports Network with Jerry Palleschi on KVTK 101.5 in Yankton/Vermillion or by using the Varsity Network app.

The Coyotes

South Dakota (17-9, 6-5) escaped the Twin Cities with a 63-61 win earlier this season with Coyote forward Tori DePerry making a buzzer-beating layup off an in-bounds play. The Coyotes have been led the season by junior guard Grace Larkins' 16.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. Fourth-year junior guard Kendall Holmes scored a game-high 21 points Thursday night while third-year sophomore Carley Duffney posted her third-straight game in double figures.

Saturday night is the Coyotes' annual Pink Game for breast cancer awareness. Four pink jerseys are being auctioned off to raise money for state-of-the-art recliners to promote comfort for chemotherapy patients at Sanford Vermillion. The auction is open until 6:30 p.m. Saturday at GoYotes.com/auctions

The Tommies

St. Thomas (14-11, 6-5) had a bye week to prepare for the Tommies' rematch with the Coyotes.

Amber Scalia is the Summit's third leading scorer, averaging 17.5 points per game. She's joined in double-figure scoring by Jade Hill at 13.8 points per game and Jo Langbehn's 12.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

The Series

South Dakota leads the series 4-1 with the Tommies' first series win coming in Vermillion a year ago.
