Bostyn Holt made the game-winning layup in the final seconds and scored a game-high 25 points to help South Dakota (11-18, 4-10 Summit) defeat Oral Roberts 77-76 in Vermillion Saturday afternoon.

Holt shot 55 percent from the field, made two of his three three-point attempts, and went 3-of-3 at the free throw line to record his fourth 20+ point scoring performance in the last five games. His game-winning layup with five seconds to play marks the third time Holt has scored the game-winning shot in the final moments of the game.
Lahat Thioune scored 19 points and was one rebound shy of his 12
th double-double.

Oral Roberts (11-17, 5-10 Summit) put together a balanced attack with all five starters ending in double-figure scoring. Leading scorer Issac McBride scored a team-high 19 points in 40 minutes of action. DeShang Weaver followed with 13 points and Sir Issac Herron grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and added 10 points.

It was another close game for the Yotes, whose last six games have been decided by single digits with three of those decided by three points or less. The Golden Eagles shot 54.8 percent from the floor in the opening frame and outworked the Coyotes in the paint 26-12 to take a 38-32 lead into halftime.

The Yotes, who have won just two games when behind at the half this season, used a string of scoring runs to keep it close in the second half. The lead was traded back and forth and Thioune started to take over as the clock wound down, scoring eight straight points in a five-minute span to tie the game at 73-73 with 2:25 to play. South Dakota adjusted at the halftime break and responded in the paint, outscoring Oral Roberts 30-18 inside, including the game-winning layup from Holt. The Golden Eagles had the ball and a chance to win it with five seconds to play, but McBride's layup attempt fell short.

Kaleb Stewart scored 10 points and knocked down two triples to record his 12
th double-digit scoring game in 14 Summit games.
Paul Bruns shot 50 percent from behind the arc and knocked down three triples in 34 minutes of action. The Yotes finished the day perfect from the free-throw line, hitting 14-of-14 attempts.
