Â
In true rivalry fashion it was a back-and-forth battle from the beginning. South Dakota came out of the gate hot and shot 50 percent from the field and from three in the first half to take a one-point lead into halftime. It was the first time the Coyotes have held the lead at halftime since they defeated NDSU on Dec. 29.
Â
The second half was closely contested in a game that saw nine lead changes and seven ties. The Coyotes were able to cut the lead and take over a couple times but the Jackrabbits' free throw shooting came up clutch in the final possessions.
Â
South Dakota returns home to host Denver on Feb. 8 inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
