South Dakota travels to Denver for round two

The Game

South Dakota women's basketball travels to Denver for a game at 7 p.m. Central Thursday inside Hamilton Gymnasium in Denver, Colorado.

The game will be live streamed on the Summit League Network available via the Midco Sports Plus app. Fans can also tune into the game on the Coyote Sports Network with Jerry Palleschi on KVTK 101.5 in Yankton/Vermillion or by using the Varsity Network app.

The Coyotes

South Dakota (16-8, 5-4 Summit) is led by one of the best shooting guards in the country in Grace Larkins. She's one of four players averaging more than 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game this season. Center Natalie Mazurek has reached double-figures in six of the last eight games.

Road games have been thrilling for the Coyotes this season with four of five road wins coming down to the final seconds, including three overtime road wins. USD's win at North Dakota last week was the first time the Coyotes were able to dribble it out on the road.

The Pioneers

Denver (6-16, 3-6 Summit) hosts South Dakota for its third-straight home game. The Pioneers earned wins over Kansas City and Oral Roberts at home last weekend, knocking down 16 3-pointers in a 102-92 win over the Golden Eagles on Saturday.

Jordan Jones is the reigning Summit League Peak Performer of the Week after finishing 9-of-11 from the floor in Denver's win over Oral Roberts on Saturday. She's the Pioneers' leading scorer at 13.4 points per game. Five players average eight or more points per game for Denver.

The Series

South Dakota leads the series 20-4, including the first meeting in Vermillion this season. The Coyotes won game one 78-70 back in January.

Up Next

South Dakota returns home to host Omaha and St. Thomas next week inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion.
