The Meets

South Dakota track and field is split between three meets this weekend.
 
A contingent of Coyotes head south for the Tyson Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas at the Tyson Indoor Track in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Friday and Saturday. A live stream of the meet will be available on SEC Network+.
 
In addition, a handful of Coyote distance runners head to the pacific northwest for the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington at Dempsey Indoor in Seattle, Washington.
 
The remaining squad will travel to Brookings, South Dakota, for the SDSU Classic held inside the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex on Friday and Saturday.
 

The Coyotes

Indoor season is rolling full steam ahead for South Dakota as we reach the second weekend of February.
 
Fifth-year senior Marshall Faurot and fourth-year junior Erin Kinney are the reigning Summit League Peak Performers of the Week. Kinney won the 60 meters at the Frank Sevigne Invitational, topping a field filled with Power 5 athletes. Faurot vaulted an indoor best of 17-11 (5.46m) at Frank Sevigne to move to 14th in the nation in the event.
 
There were six updates to the Coyote Top 10 from the Frank Sevigne Invitational last weekend with four athletes moving up and two making an appearance on the list for the first time.
 
South Dakta has three events ranked in the USTFCCCA Event Squad Rankings this season. Both the women's and men's pole vault squads are ranked No. 4. The men's heptathlon squad is ranked No. 7.
