ORLANDO, Fla. – South Dakota women's tennis team opened its week down in Florida with a 7-0 win over MSU Moorhead on Monday.

The Coyotes won all nine matches contested and dropped just two games in doubles and six games in singles.

"Thanks to MSU Moorhead for playing today," coach
Brett Barnett said. "They competed well and made us work outdoors again."

Anna Medvyedyeva and
Grace Chadick opened the match with a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles followed by wins from the No. 2 doubles duo of
Sorcha Caves and
Amanda de Oliveira as well as the No. 3 team of
Paige Alter and
Hitakamya Narwal.

South Dakota received singles wins from
Bea Havlickova, de Oliveira, Medvyedyeda, Caves, Chadick and
Selena Bird.

"Very professional effort from the team, played very efficient and smart tennis," added Barnett. "We're excited to get back on court tomorrow for a good test from Morgan State."

South Dakota (5-8) plays again on Tuesday against Morgan State and Wednesday versus Marist.
