The Game

South Dakota women's basketball hosts Northern Arizona in the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament at 7 p.m. Tuesday inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion, South Dakota.

The Coyotes

South Dakota (22-12) is coming off a first-round 72-57 win over UC Riverside. The Coyotes had a strong fourth quarter run and had four players reach double-figure scoring for the first time since mid-February. Sophomore forward Carley Duffney led the way with 15 points. South Dakota has advanced to the second round in all six appearances of the Women's National Invitation Tournament. The Coyotes look to reach the WNIT's Super 16 for the third time with a win over Northern Arizona.

The Coyotes finished fourth in the Summit League standings in head coach Kayla Karius' second season at the helm. Junior guard Grace Larkins, a two-time all-Summit League first team selection, leads the Coyotes in scoring, rebounding and assists. She's averaging 16.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

The Lumberjacks

Northern Arizona (25-9) received a bye to the second round of the WNIT after finishing runner-up in the Big Sky. NAU's 25 wins is a single-season program record and the Lumberjacks have put together back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 2007.

Th Lumberjacks are led by unanimous all-Big Sky first team pick Sophie Glancey, who's averaging 15.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Junior Leia Bettie was all-Big Sky second team, while the duo of senior Emily Rodabaugh and Olivia Moran were honorable mention.

The Series

The Coyotes and the Lumberjacks played in a home-and-home series during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons with South Dakota winning both meetings. South Dakota is 15-6 all-time against the Big Sky and 2-1 this season.
