South Dakota hits the road for the first time in Summit League play for a series in Kansas City, Missouri. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday at Noon and a single game Saturday at 11 a.m.

South Dakota (15-19, 0-2) dropped a doubleheader against rival South Dakota State while the third game of the series was canceled due to poor weather.
Kansas City (12-20, 1-2) lost two of three to St. Thomas in its Summit League opening series.

South Dakota leads 19-18...Coyotes swept Kansas City last season in Kansas City and this marks the third straight season playing this series in Missouri.
SOUTH DAKOTA NOTES
The Coyotes were limited to two hits total in the two games against South Dakota State and will look to get the offense, which averaged 3.7 runs per game in non-conference play, back on track.
Gabby Moser leads the South Dakota offense with a .295 average to go with team-highs of eight doubles, five home runs and 30 RBIs.Â
Clara Edwards has been a workhorse for the Coyotes in the circle as her 96.2 innings pitched rank second in the Summit League. Her 2.82 earned run average is fifth-best in the Summit League.Â
KANSAS CITY NOTES
The unbalanced Summit League schedule in 2024 has Kansas City playing its final home series in league play this weekend. The remaining four series' for the Roos are all on the road.Â
Camryn Stickel leads the Summit League in innings pitched at 116.0 while her 2.72 earned run average is ranked fourth in the Summit League.Â
Lexy Smith is back in the Kansas City lineup after missing some time with an injury and she has three hits in her last five plate appearances. Smith has appeared in 22 of the team's 32 games and leads the way with a .403 average, three home runs and 15 RBIs.
Briona Woods is hitting .330 with two home runs and 15 RBIs while Kadin Vire has a team-high 18 RBIs.
