KNOXVILLE, Tennessee – South Dakota softball team hit four home runs on way to scoring a season high 10 runs in a 10-5 win over Missouri State on a rain-delayed Saturday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

A two-game day turned into a one-game day for the Coyotes, who sat around for seven hours before finally taking the field during the Tennessee Invitational.

Gabby Moser,
Autumn Iversen,
Alecea Mendoza and
Rylie Jones all homered in the victory for South Dakota.

The four home runs in one game were the most for the Coyotes since hitting five against Drexel on Feb. 16, 2019.

Moser, a senior, got things started in the top of the first with a two-run home run. It was her team best fourth round tripper of the season and the 12
th in her career.

Iversen, a freshman, connected for her first collegiate home run to snap a 2-2 tie in the top of the third inning.

Mendoza, a senior, hit her first home run in a Coyote uniform to snap a 3-3 deadlock in the top of the fourth inning.

The Coyotes (11-11) then put the game away with a five-run fifth inning with Moser contributing a two-out, two run double and Jones a three-run home run, for her second of the season, two batters later.

Clara Edwards in the third inning and went the rest of the way picking up her fourth win of the season.

South Dakota is now scheduled to play two games on Sunday taking on Missouri State at 10 a.m. (CT) and Ohio State at 3 p.m. (CT).
