South Dakota Athletic Director Jon Schemmel and Head Football Coach Bob Nielson are excited to unveil the football team's black jerseys to be worn in the 2024 season.

"We feel these jerseys are the perfect blend of innovation and tradition." Schemmel said "I think this design will get students excited, along with our alumni who have been with us for years."

The design was put together by a panel of athletic department staff and students. Coach Nielson played a big role in ensuring the design would resonate with the younger demographic.

"This is a design that we will be seeing all over campus this fall." Nielson exclaimed "I can't wait to get a matching black tie with the white zig-zag design on it."

South Dakota athletics is also excited to declare "April Fools!" and that a new set of black uniforms will be unveiled on Thursday, August 27 at the football team's 7 p.m. season opener vs. Northern State. Football season tickets are available now at GoYotes.com/Tickets.
