VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball coach
Kayla Karius is pleased to announce the signing of Ava Cossette to a National Letter of Intent.
"We are excited about the addition of Ava and the whole Cossette family," said Karius. "Ava is an explosive wing player, who also uses her length well on the defensive end."
A combo guard out of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Cossette was an all-Northwest Suburban Conference selection. She averaged 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.3 steals per game during her senior season at Maple Grove High School. She also played volleyball and competed in the triple jump in track & field for the Crimson. An honor roll student, Cossette plans to major in kinesiology and sport management at South Dakota.
She joins Hannah Coons (Kiefer, Oklahoma) and Gabby Wilke (Beaver Dam, Wisconsin) in the incoming freshman class.
