USD students will enjoy a better view and more comfortable seating options in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center when they arrive on campus for the 2024-25 academic year.

While students will still have the option to sit in the bleacher seats in sections 102 and 103, sections 104 and 105 will now be reserved for students as well. This gives students the ability to cheer on the Coyotes with better sightlines and more comfort. The seating adjustment is based off of feedback from students.

"The Coyote Crazies are beyond excited to welcome our new student section with bibs on and open arms," said Coyote Crazies President Elizabeth Wiggins "This is a significant shift in our gameday experience. It's going to give students a chance to unite on gamedays with not just each other, but also the community."

"I feel that the new location will help give students of every background view of not just the game they're watching, but Coyote athletics as a whole," said USD student and Campus Activities Board Vice President Sam Anderson "It also opens up avenues for students to interact with the game in a whole new way."

"Student engagement is a top priority for us and the most frequent request we receive from students revolves around better seating options," Athletic Director Jon Schemmel noted "An active student section takes the overall campus experience and gameday atmosphere to the next level. We'll continue to be aggressive in giving students every opportunity to enjoy their experience here."

The student section will continue to be seated on a first come first serve basis in sections 102, 103, 104 and 105.
