Matulevicius signs NLI with South Dakota

VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball coach Carrie Eighmey is pleased to announce the signing of Viki Matulevicius to a National Letter of Intent.
 
A combo guard from the suburbs of Chicago in Willowbrook, Illinois, Matulevicius was a two-time MVP and four-time all-Girls Catholic Athletic Conference honoree for Montini Catholic High School. She garnered all-state honors in the 3A division as both a junior and senior. Matulevicius surpassed 1,500 career points during her prep career. She averaged 16.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game as a senior. She made the academic all-state team and is a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to major in psychology at South Dakota.
 
Holding dual citizenship with Lithuania, she also played for the Lithuanian National Team at the 2023 FIBA U18 European Championship in Turkey and the 2022 FIBA U16 European Championship in Portugal.
 
She joins Hannah Coons (Kiefer, Oklahoma), Ava Cossette (Maple Grove, Minnesota), and Gabby Wilke (Beaver Dam, Wisconsin) in the incoming freshman class.
