Jones-Logan Lands First MVFC Special Teams Player of the Week Honors

09.02.2024

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — After an electric kickoff return for the first South Dakota touchdown of the season, Keyondray Jones-Logan earned the first Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) Special Teams Player of the Week honor for the 2024 season, the league office announced this morning.

It was the only chance Jones-Logan (So., Orlando, Fla.) got to return a kickoff on the night, but his speed was on full display early in the contest. The return itself sparked the scoring barrage for the Coyotes. After the return, South Dakota would score 45 unanswered points and keep Northern State off the board the rest of the game.
Through the first week of the college football weekend, his kickoff return is the longest of the young season and the only return specialist to take one to the house.

He becomes the first Coyote to win a MVFC weekly honor in 2024 and the first honoree of any of the five MVFC weekly honor since Isaac Erbes won Offensive Lineman of the Week honors on November 21, 2023.
