VERMILLION, S.D.. — South Dakota competed in a dual against Iowa State at the USD Natatorium and came up short in the competition 123 to 168.
One of the highest scoring Yotes of the day was
Henley Hatzung, who scored 13 team points in the meet. Hatzung was the champion of the 50 Yard free with a time of 24.35 and got second in the 100 yard back with a time of 58.61. She was also a part of the 400 medley relay with teammates
Taylor Buhr,
Lauren Eschmeyer, and
Gabbie Ahrendt. Hatzung was also on the second place 200 free relay with
Carson White,
Chloe Miller, and
Grace Schultz.
Another high-scoring Yote was Ahrendt with eight points, who along with her 400 medley relay appearance competed in three individual events. She took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.96. Ahrendt was also second in the 100 fly in 58.19, as well as second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.12.
Dawsyn Green gave USD six points on the day with her third place finish in the 200 fly in 2:09.11 and her third place finish in the 200 IM in 2:14.03.
Buhr also made a six point contribution for the Yotes with her role in the 400 medley relay and a trio of fourth place finishes in the 100 breast (1:07.65), the 200 breast (2:25.03), and the 200 IM (2:15.05).

The men's and women's team will be back at the USD Natatorium next weekend, October 31-November 1 to compete in the Coyote Extravaganza.
