PREVIEW: Coyotes Hit the Road for First Time in Summit League Play this season

VERMILLION, S.D. – The South Dakota women's soccer team hits the road for the first time in Summit League play this season, taking on Kansas City on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Oral Roberts on Sunday at 1 p.m. 

THE COYOTES 

South Dakota enters the week with a 6-3-4 record following a 2-1 win over North Dakota on Sunday. Klarissa Vega leads the Coyotes offensively with seven goals this season, ranking second in the Summit League in total goals. In goal, Campbell Fischer has recorded 33 saves and three shutouts so far this year. 

THE OPPONETS 

Kansas City: 
Kansas City enters the week with a 5-6-1 overall record and an 0-2-0 mark in conference play, with losses to Denver and Oral Roberts. The Roo to watch is Zolesio Delfina Fernandez Blanco, who leads both Kansas City and the Summit League with eight goals this season. Goalkeeper Audrey Brown has tallied 25 saves with a 4-4-1 record. Kickoff is set for Thursday, October 9 at 7 p.m. South Dakota is 4-9-1 all-time against Kansas City. 

Oral Roberts:
Oral Roberts begins the week with a 9-3-1 overall record and a 3-0-0 start in Summit League play. Genesis Helsley leads the Golden Eagles with five goals, ten of which have been on target. In goal, Eirini Manoukaraki has posted 21 saves and four shutouts. Kickoff is set for Sunday, October 12 at 1 p.m. South Dakota is 5-6-2 all-time against Oral Roberts.
