The Yotes would knock down seven triples in the opening half, but the Tigers held the advantage at the free throw line going 16-for-20.

The Yotes tied the lead at the midway point of the first half off a layup from Buntyn which capped off an 11-1 USD run. Vince Buzelis put the Yotes out in front for the first time in the contest with 8:38 left in the half with a triple, but Mizzou would answer with a triple on the ensuing possession. The Yotes had a stretch in the first half where they knocked down 8-of-10 field goals, but Mizzou ended the half strong to take a 53-42 lead into the intermission.

Missouri extended its lead early in the second half and would push the advantage to 20 points with 11:24 remaining and would hold a lead greater than 20 the rest of the way. The Tigers shot .704 percent from the floor in the second half, and defensively they held the Yotes to a .296 shooting percentage and 3-of-12 shooting from deep after the Yotes connected on 7-of-17 treys in the first half.
