MT. SAC RELAYS
WALNUT, Calif. – The Coyotes picked up four event wins during Friday's action at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California.

The Coyotes swept the Elite B section of the pole vault competition Friday afternoon with a pair of personal bests. On the women's side, freshman
Anna Willis cleared 14-9 (4.50m) to take the title. She now ranks third on the USD Outdoor Top 10 list. Teammate
Marleen Mülla took second at a height of 14-1 ¼ (4.30m).
Gen Hirata and
Cassidy Mooneyhan cleared 13-9 ¼ (4.20m).

In the men's pole vault,
Tre Young reached a personal best 17-9 (5.41m) to win the event. Young now sits fifth on the Coyote Top 10 list in the event.

The third Coyote title of the day came in the women's 400-meter hurdles.
Averi Schmeichel ran 58.1 seconds in the event to take the title with a personal best. She still ranks third on the Top 10 list at USD in the event. The final title came in the open 1,500-meters, where
Natnael Kifle ran 3:52.88 to win the event.

South Dakota also had a handful of top placings on the track Friday.
Jaden Damiano took second in the 110-meter hurdles with a personal best 13.97-second time. Damiano also ran a 54.0-second 400-meter hurdle time. He ranks third in both events in the conference.

Berkeley Engelland ran 2:10.44, a personal best that moves her top ninth on the Coyote Top 10, in the 800-meters to place seventh. That time ranks third in the Summit League this spring. In the 1,500-meters Elite A,
Jade Ecoffey (4:33.55),
Abrielle Jirele (4:33.59), and
Madison Brouwer (4:34.07) took top five finishes.
Alexus Sindelar took sixth at 4:34.58, followed by teammate
Geneva Timmerman running 4:36.69.

Sara Reifenrath took 14
th in the 200-meters with a time of 24.17, ranking fourth in the Summit League this spring.
Sydney Stodden ran 55.72 and
Caelyn Valandra 55.81 in the 400, moving to fifth and sixth in the conference based on times entering competition Friday.

Mikael Grace added an eighth-place finish in the 110 hurdles in 14.23.
Jaden Guthmiller ran 10.60 seconds in the 100-meters, placing 16
th and tying him for fifth in the Summit League this season.

In the relays, South Dakota's women's 4x400 relay ran 3:41.74 to place fourth. That is the top time in the conference and ranks fifth in USD Outdoor. The men's relay ran 3:18.61, matching their season's best.

In field events,
Bennett Schwenn took seventh in the long jump at 23-10 (7.26m) and
Carsen Staehr took eighth in the triple jump at 47-5 ¾ (14.47m). Matayah Yellow Mule competed in both the women's long and triple jumps. She recorded a mark of 18-10 ¾ (5.76m) in the long jump and 38-0 ¼ (11.59m) in the triple.

Joe Lynch added a second place finish in the men's high jump, and
Landon Olson took fourth, with both athletes clearing 6-8 ¾ (2.05m). In the women's high jump,
Danii Anglin took sixth with a jump of 5-7.

BEACH INVITATIONAL
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Four Coyote throwers competed in the hammer throw Friday, highlighted by
Lydia Knapp's second place finish.

Kanpp wasn't able to reset her school record again, but she still recorded a throw of 214-8 to take second place Friday.
Delaney Smith recorded a best throw of 181-2 to place 12
th.

On the men's side,
Quincy Warren placed 15
th with a throw of 193-1 and
Tristan Gray a throw of 165-1.

BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL
AZUSA, Calif. –
Mason Sindelar and
Caleb Rivera set personal bests in the 1,500-meter invite section Friday night at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

Entering the race Friday, Sindelar was second on the Coyote Top 10 list in the event, with Rivera in third. While both runners ran new bests, Rivera now holds the No. 2 time in the event, running 3:43.65 to win his heat. Sindelar took second in the heat with a best of 3:45.05.

With Friday's performance, Rivera is now second in the Summit League this season with Sindelar fourth.

The Coyotes conclude the west coast trip Saturday at the Beach Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays.
