VERMILLION, S.D. – In the final week before the Summit League Championships, South Dakota is set to compete in the USD Twilight and the Cyclone Twilight this weekend.
MEET INFO
The USD Twilight is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday with the women's pole vault, men's javelin throw, and the men's and women's long jump competitions. On the track, things get rolling with the women's 4x100 at 3 p.m.
All the results for the USD Twilight can be found on Dakota Timing. There will also be a live stream available on the Summit League Network.
A few South Dakota athletes are headed to Ames, Iowa for the Cyclone Twilight. Field events begin at 3 p.m. and track events at 6 p.m. Live results are available on Primetime Timing.
SUMMIT LEAGUE PEAK PERFORMERS
Two Coyotes earned Kwik Star Summit League Peak Newcomer of the Month for the month of April.
Anna Willis, in her first outdoor season at the collegiate level, set the bar high, clearing 14-9 in the women's pole vault to win the competition at the Mt. SAC Relays, the highest clearance for a freshman in the NCAA this spring. She was the top collegiate finisher at the Drake Relays and ranks No. 2 in the Summit League and No. 8 in the NCAA this spring.
On the men's side,
Caleb Rivera joined the Coyotes as a grad transfer, and has been putting his name all over the Coyote Top 10 lists this spring. Rivera has ran 3:43.65 in the 1,500-meters (No. 2 in USD history), and was a part of the School Record distance medley relay that ran 9:37.21 at the Drake Relays. Sindelar won the Drake Relays 1,500-meters. His 1,500-meter time ranks No. 2 in the Summit League this spring.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
In the fifth week of the USTFCCCA Outdoor Rankings, the Coyote women's pole vault squad ranks second in the nation with their top four vaulters all ranked inside the top 50 in the country. The men's pole vault squad ranks sixth.
In other top events for the Coyotes, the women rank 23
rd in the steeplechase.
South Dakota women crack the top 10 in the Midwest rankings, coming in at No. 10, the top Summit League team in the region. The Coyote men remain at No. 13 in the Midwest Rankings. In the Summit League ratings, both South Dakota squads sit in third.
