EUGENE, Ore. — South Dakota freshmen
Caelan Harland and
Dutch Neuweiler competed at the United States Under 20 Championships in the men's pole vault in Eugene, Oregon Thursday.

Harland placed fourth overall with a clearance of 17-9 ¼ (5.42m), while Neuweiler tied for 10
th after clearing 16-3 ½ (4.97m).

Harland cleared three heights on the day, starting at 16-9 ½ (5.12m). He then cleared 17-1 ½ (5.22m) and made his final clearance at 17-9 ¼. He passed at 17-11 ¼ before bowing out at 18-1 ¼ (5.52m). Neuweiler made the opening bar of 16-3 ½ before bowing out at 16-9 ½.
