VERMILLION, S.D. — Five Coyotes on the 2025 roster have been named to the STATS Perform preseason All-America teams, announced by the organization Tuesday morning.

Charles Pierre Jr. represents the Yotes on the First Team of the STATS Perform preseason All-America team.
Aidan Bouman, heading into his third year as the full-time starting quarterback at USD, was named to the Second Team. He's led South Dakota to the to the quarterfinals and the semifinals the past two seasons and enters the 2025 campaign third all-time in passing yards (6,402) and fifth in passing touchdowns (42), while also leading the USD Division I FCS era quarterbacks in career starts (31) and career wins (22).
Returning for his final year of eligibility and the lone starter returning on defense,
Nate Ewell will look to lead the linebacker group heading into the 2025 season. The 2024 All-MVFC Newcomer team honoree started all 14 games for the Yotes last season and finished second on the squad in tackles (78). Ewell was named a Third Team preseason All-American.
Will Leyland heads into his third season as a Coyote in 2025, earning Third Team preseason All-America honors as a place kicker. The Souderton, Pennsylvania native is 23-for-27 (PCT) in field goals at USD, with a career long of 50 yards. He looks to crack into the program's top-10 list this season for career field goals made.
An electric play maker in the kicking game last season,
Keyondray Jones-Logan gained national attention heading into 2025 with Third Team recognition as a kick return specialist. He tied the USD career record with his two kickoffs returned for touchdown last season.
The Coyotes open the season with a road trip to Ames, Iowa to battle the Cyclones of Iowa State on August 30 on FOX.
