VERMILLION, S.D. — For the 11
th straight year, and 12
th time overall, the South Dakota volleyball team earned the AVCA Team Academic Award as well as the distinction of Team Academic Honor Roll for being in the top 20% of GPAs in Division I, announced by the AVCA Monday.
To earn the Team Academic Award honor, a program must maintain a year-long GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or a 4.1 GPA on a 5.0 scale.
"I am so proud of this team for representing themselves so well in both the classroom and on the court," said head coach
Leanne Williamson. "They are so dedicated to everything that they do, and I am very happy that they have been recognized!"
The Coyotes were one of 234 Division I schools to earn the Team Academic Award and one of 1,450 collegiate and high school programs to be honored. The Coyotes maintained a GPA of 3.71 which ranked inside the top 20% of all NCAA Division I Programs to earn the Team Academic Honor Roll distinction.
