VERMILLION, S.D. — University of South Dakota volleyball alum
Cheyenne Hlady has signed a pro contract with TV Dingolfing of the Volleyball Bundesliga Pro League.
"I am extremely excited to compete at the international professional level," said Hlady. "I am looking forward to being in a new place and embracing a new culture, style of play and growing as a person and player. On my visit back in April 2024, I explained to the coaching staff it was a goal of mine and very important to me to play post-collegiate. Through the season and post season the staff did everything and more to help me make it happen. I am blessed to have been a Coyote for the time I was and now am so excited to represent USD and the Yotes all the way in Germany. Go Yotes!!"
TV Dingolfing is located in Dingolfing, Germany and competes in the Second Volleyball Bundesliga Pro Division of the league. The team plays its home matches out of the Sporthalle Höll-Ost Arena in Dingolfing.
Hlady, a native of Mississauga, Ontario, totaled 223 kills in her lone season as a Coyote on a .220 hitting percentage and was third on the team with 61.0 total blocks. Hlady played a big part in USD's Summit League Tournament Championship win over SDSU, as she put away a career-high 18 kills on a .350 swing rate with seven digs and two blocks. She recorded a pair of 15-kill matches against Saint Louis and St. Thomas and hit .360+ in both contests. Hlady hit above .300 in 13 matches and had a season-high five blocks twice against North Dakota and Omaha.
"We are so excited for Cheyenne to start her professional career in Germany," said head coach
Leanne Williamson. "Cheyenne expressed an interest in playing professionally during the recruiting process, and we are excited to see her dreams become a reality. Cheyenne made a significant impact on our program in a short amount of time, and we look forward to her doing the same in her professional career!"
Hlady reports to TV Dingolfing on August 19th with the team's season starting in August and will play matches through May.
