VERMILLION, S.D. — After two preseason exhibitions it's time for the Coyotes to start their regular season slate starting in Vermillion Thursday afternoon against Northern Iowa and on the road in Des Moines Iowa against Drake on Sunday.
The Coyotes had a busy exhibition season so far this August facing off against two Big Ten opponents Iowa and Minnesota.
The Coyotes are set to face off against Northern Iowa Thursday at 4:00 p.m. for their regular season home opener at the First Bank & Trust Soccer Complex in Vermillion, South Dakota. Then they are on the road for their first away game of the season against Drake at 1:00 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa on Sunday.
THE COYOTES
Eight starters are returning from last year's 2024 season including leading scorers Ashby Johnston and Izzy Quintavalle. Campbell Fischer is also returning this season after starting in every conference match and recording 71 saves last season.
THE OPPONENTS
Northern Iowa is coming off a 9-6-4 record from last season. Last season the Coyotes made the trip to Cedar Falls tying the Panthers 1-1. The Coyotes a 5-9-3 against Northern Iowa since 2007.
Drake's 2024 season ended with a record of 8-7-6 with a 2-3 loss last time out facing the Coyotes in Vermillion. The Coyotes are 6-7-1 against Drake since 2008.
HOW TO WATCH
The Coyotes home opener against Northern Iowa will be streamed live on the Summit League Network on Midco Sports Plus with a paid subscription. South Dakota versus Drake will be streamed on ESPN+ with a paid subscription.
