SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota's
Avery Van Hook picked up her second career Summit League Kwik Star Offensive Peak Performer of the Week honor Tuesday afternoon.
Van Hook dished out 124 assists across three matches and 11 sets last weekend for a 11.27 assists per set average. She also put away 13 kills of her own, including seven against Wichita State on a .545 clip and four vs Drake on seven swings. Van Hook was also active on defense with 41 digs and four blocks. She notched a double-double in all three matches with assists and digs.
Van Hook's 124 assists and 11.27 assists per set average were the highest by any Summit League player last week.
She helped lead the Yotes to a 3-1 win over previously unbeaten Villanova with 49 assists, 14 digs, two kills and a block. In the Yotes sweep of Drake, Van Hook had 36 assists, 11 digs and four kills.
Van Hook and the Coyotes open Summit League play this week on the road at North Dakota Thursday night and return to the Sanford Coyote Sports Center Saturday to host Oral Roberts.
