SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — For the fourth time in the opening five weeks, South Dakota's
Kamryn Farris was named the Summit League Kwik Star Defensive Peak Performer of the Week. Farris now has seven Summit League weekly accolades in her career.
Farris averaged 5.29 digs per set in the opening week of Summit League action, marking her fourth straight week with a digs per set average greater than 5.0. She totaled 37 digs in seven sets and hit the 20-dig mark for the sixth time this season with 22 at North Dakota Thursday. She also had a pair of aces and eight assists against the Fighting Hawks. In the Coyotes sweep of Oral Roberts Saturday, Farris had 15 digs, four aces and five assists.
Farris paces the Summit League with 268 digs and 5.15 digs per set. She is the only player in the conference averaging over 4.0 digs per set. Farris ranks No. 11 in the NCAA in digs per set and No. 13 in total digs. As a team, the Coyotes rank No. 4 in the NCAA in digs per set (17.54).
South Dakota returns to action on Saturday at Denver to face the Pioneers at 2:00 p.m. CT in Denver, Colorado.
