OMAHA, NEB. — The Yotes took on the Mavericks in a dual where the men's team came out on top 177-123.5 while the women lost 100.5-199.5. USD claimed 18 event wins with diver
Charlie Matthews earning a qualifying score for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.
The men's team opened with the lone relay win of the night.
Joaquin Contreras-Fallico,
Tommy Wonka,
Dylan Alt, and
Nick Rounds came together for a 1:30.81 200 Medley Relay to take first place.
Contreras-Fallico, Rounds, and Alt later found individual success as they combined for five wins on the night. Contreras-Fallico took the 100 and 200 backs, Rounds the 50 and 100 free while Alt won the 100 fly.
Alex Parkinson and
Brock Russell were both two time event winners on the night. Parkinson took the distance events as he won the 500 and 1000 free. Russell won both the 200 IM and the 200 breast.
James Schreiber was also a winner for USD as he swam a season best 1:41.79 in the 200 free, along with
Will Barth who won the 200 fly.
The diving duo of
Maddox Mork and
Charlie Matthews took home wins in the diving events today, with Matthews earning a NCAA Zone Qualifying score of 306.68 in the 1 meter dive. Mork took the 3 meter dive with a score of 309.55.
The women took four event wins by four different Coyotes.
Camilla Brogger-Andersen won the 500 free,
Henley Hatzung won the 50 free,
Gabbie Ahrendt won the 100 fly, and
Dawsyn Green won the 200 fly.
