South Dakota tops St. Thomas in dual

ST. PAUL, MINN. — South Dakota Traveled to Minnesota to take on St. Thomas and came back with a win. The women won 157-143 while the men outscored the Tommies 165-135. The Yotes compiled 25 event wins over the two day meet. 
 
DAY ONE
Day one consisted of many relays and a team diving event. The women's team of Emily DiProspero, Quin Mahler-Moreno, and Gabbie Ahrendt took the first win of the day in the 600/400/200 free (1200 free) relay in 12:25.53. The men's team of Alex Parkinson, Will Barth, and Matthew Sorbe followed them with a win as well. 
 
The Yotes also took wins in the women's 3x150 back relay, the men's 3x150 back relay, the women's 3x150 breast relay, and the women's 3x150 fly relay.
 
Later, the men's relay of Parkinson, Brock Russell, Joaquin Contreras-Fallico, and Nick Rounds took first in the 1000 Yard IM relay. 
 
To end the swimming events on day one, both teams took first in the 800 free relay. Alex Peterson, Tatum O'Shea, Carson White, and Henley Hatzung finished in 6:52.91 and Rounds, James Schreiber, David Mayer, and Parkinson completed in 5:57.90.
 
Both men's and women's diving finished second in the team relay. 
 
DAY TWO
Day two brought two more relay wins on the men's side. Rounds, Ethan LaBounty, Dylan Alt, and Schreiber won the 200 medley relay in 1:31.41, then Alt, Mayer, Schreiber, and Sorbe took the 200 freestyle in 1:24.29. 
 
DiProspero took a win in the 1000 yard free in 10:43.77 as well as the 100 butterfly in 59.91. Emerson Smith also took an individual win in the 200 free in 1:58.22, Gabbie Ahrendt took first in the 50 fly in 26.02, and Taylor Buhr won the 100 breast in 1:06.92.
 
The men's team had individual wins from Alt in the 50 back in 23.35, Rounds in the 50 fly in 22.06 and the 200 free in 1:43.40, LaBounty in the 100 breast in 57.92, Mayer in the 100 free in 47.60, Parkinson in the 500 free in 4:36.89, and Will Barth who took the 1000 free in 9:48.08.
 
Maddox Mork finished on top in the 3 meter dive with a score of 332.75. Mady Schmidt also won the 3 meter dive with a score 258.25.
