Yotes place top two in all five relays on day one of the Summit League Championships

Iowa City, Iowa — South Dakota began competition in the Summit League Championships today in Iowa City with session one consisting of the Men's 1 mtr dive prelims and the second session including multiple relays as well as the diving finals. 
 
Maddox Mork made his first appearance in the Championship finals after placing fifth in the prelims. He went on to score a 279.40 in the 1 mtr finals to give him seventh place overall. 
 
It was a great day for South Dakota relays, starting with the women's 200 Medley team of Anna Balfanz, Taylor Buhr, Lauren Eschmeyer, and Henley Hatzung. They took second with a time of 1:40.36 which also set a new school record in the event. 
 
The men's 200 Medley team of Joaquin Contreras-Fallico, Ethan LaBounty, Dylan Alt, and Nick Rounds took home gold medals after swimming a 1:25.70. 
 
Next was the 800 free relay where Gabbie Ahrendt, Tatum O'shea, Carson White, and Emily DiProspero finished in second with a time of 7:22.48. The men's team of James Schreiber, Matthew Sorbe, Alex Parkinson, and David Mayer also finished second with a time of 6:33.10 setting a new school record by over four seconds. 
 
The women's team sits in second place after day one, while the men are in third.
