Robles earns first Peak Performer honor of season

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota women's basketball's Angelina Robles earned Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors for the first time this season, and in her career, with her performance against St. Thomas and South Dakota State last week.
 
Robles averaged 22.5 points per game, leading the Summit League, in a pair of USD wins. She made 58.3% of her shots from the field, including 69.2% from three. She also went 8-for-9 at the free throw line. Robles is South Dakota's first Peak Performer of the season.
 
Against St. Thomas, Robles led all scorers with 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three. She also had three assists and two rebounds in the 12-point USD victory.
 
Against South Dakota State Saturday, Robles led the Coyotes to a win over their rival Jackrabbits with a season's high 25 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the field and 6-of-7 from three. She didn't miss a free throw (5-5) and added four rebounds and three assists.
 
On the season, Robles is averaging 14.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. She also passed 1,000 career points against SDSU. Robles is shooting 41.9% from the field this season, 41.2% from three, and 82.6% from the free throw line. She is leading the Summit League in assists during conference play with 37 total for 4.1 per game.
 
South Dakota is on the road this week, taking on Denver and Oral Roberts. The Coyotes are at Denver Thursday at 7 p.m. and at Oral Roberts Saturday at 2 p.m.
