HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS — South Dakota softball defeated Creighton 5-2 Sunday morning at the Bearkat Softball Complex to close out play at the Bearkat Classic.

South Dakota struck early with a four-run first inning and never trailed. After three walks loaded the bases,
Delaney White delivered a grand slam to left field to give the Coyotes a 4-0 advantage.
Creighton got on the board in the second inning, but South Dakota added an insurance run in the fifth.
Abi Brown drove in White with an RBI single up the middle, extending the lead to 5-1.
The Bluejays added a run late, but South Dakota held on for the three-run win. The Coyotes took advantage of early scoring opportunities and held Creighton to limited production throughout most of the game.
Madison Evans earned the win in the circle, turning in a steady performance across a complete-game effort.
