LAST TIME OUT: FIU SOFTBALL INVITATIONAL
USD went 3-1-1 last weekend when they competed in Miami, Fla. at the FIU Invite. They started out hot with a 7-5 win over Harvard but lost later in the opening day to Fordham. Saturday brought two losses against the host Florida International, but the Yotes found their bats in game that ended 10-18. Sunday's game against Harvard ended in a 9-9 tie in the ninth inning due to lighting near the field.

Madison Evans had a great weekend offensively as she went 10-18 at the plate for a .556 average with six runs scored and six RBIs. Brooke Carey recorded eight hits for a .444 average with three doubles. Allie Cromer came off the bench to pinch hit and was 2-3 in those appearances with an RBI.

Evans took the win in the Harvard game in the circle with 14.0 innings pitched over the weekend.

AT THE PLATE
Overall, Carey continues to lead the offense with a .435 average with 27 hits, five doubles and 11 multi-hit games. Delaney White and Sara Iburg have been bringing in the runs with 13 and 11 RBIs respectively.

Iburg continues to pose a huge offensive threat with over half of her hits being extra-base hits (16 H, 4 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR).

IN THE CIRCLE
Evans leads the pitching staff with a 4.32 ERA and sits at 3-7 on the season with 60.0 innings pitched. She has thrown five complete games already this season. She has given up 61 runs this season which works out to be very close to one per inning pitched, but only 37 of those have been earned.

ABOUT NORTHERN COLORADO
UNC enters the weekend at 8-12 overall and most recently competed in the D1 Colorado Tournament where they went 2-3 in three games against Creighton plus two against Colorado State. Their two wins were 6-4 and 3-0 over Creighton.

The bears are hitting .285 as a team through the first 20 games, totaling 155 hits, 86 runs, 18 home runs, and 30 doubles. Amaliee Morales leads the lineup with a .443 batting average on 27 hits and a home run.

In the circle Anna Wilming leads the staff with a 5-2 record and 53.0 innings pitched and a 4.23 ERA.

VS NORTHERN COLORADO
South Dakota met UNC earlier this season when they traveled to Phoenix, Ariz. for the GCU Invite. The Bears won that matchup 4-2. Both teams were held to five hits and two of the Bear's runs were unearned.

ABOUT COLORADO STATE
The Rams went 4-0 last weekend playing a series of games at home with wins over UNC and Creighton. Madi Eslinger was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week after leading the Rams with six RBIs, three extra-base hits, and a game-tying home run in one of the games. She ended the weekend with a .636 average.

Reagen Wick pitched three wins over the weekend in 13.2 innings of work and leads the pitching staff with a 2.18 ERA.

VS COLORADO STATE
The Yotes are 1-5 all time when playing the Rams with the last matchup in 2017 when they played twice in Fort Collins, Colo. The Yotes lost both of those games 0-6 and 0-1.
