OMAHA, Neb. — Rounding out the final tournament of the regular season, the South Dakota women's golf team took a fourth-place finish, 921 team score, at the Stampede at the Creek down in Omaha. For the second-straight tournament, junior Ella Greenberg shot a 69 in Round 1 to pace the Yotes with a fourth-place finish overall.
 
DAY 1 (36 HOLES)
Ella Greenberg had a stellar first round, tying her season-low with a scorecard of 69 (-3) and sat tied for the lead after the first 18 holes. Ava Schroeder sat even on the round with a 72, while both senior Catie Nekola and freshman Morgan Rupp shot a 77 (+5).
 
The team's 295 round score in the first round is tied for the third-lowest round of the season for the Coyotes, achieved twice at the Redbird Invitational back in September and most recently in the Ozarks last time out.
 
Wind became a major factor in the second round later in the afternoon from Indian Creek Golf Course. Schroeder shot the best round for the Yotes in second 18 with a 75 (+2).
 
Schroeder would sit tied for the tournament lead with a two-round score of 147 (+3) with Ella Greenberg just two strokes behind in third place with a 149 (+5) heading into the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
 
By the end of Day 1 (Rounds 1 + 2), the Yotes sat third in a field of 10 teams with a 611-team score. It sat one stroke ahead of the hosts from Omaha, while being seven strokes behind the clubhouse leader, Drake and three strokes behind Wichita State for second place.
 
DAY 2 (18 HOLES)
The final day saw South Dakota drop just one spot in the team standings for a fourth-place finish. Eva Greenberg had the best final round with a 76 (+4), while Ella, Catie Nekola, and Alexa Wingnean all shot a 77 in the final day.
 
In her first tournament this season, Lara Gehring improved her second and third round score by five strokes, posting a 79 in the final 18 Tuesday.

For Greenberg, the fourth-place finish is her fifth top-5 finish of the season with Schroeder claiming her third top-5 finish.
