South Dakota adds Cade Kelderman to 2026-27 roster

VERMILLION, S.D. — South Dakota men's basketball's head coach Eric Peterson announced the signing of Cade Kelderman to the 2026-27 roster Thursday. The guard from Waukee, Iowa spent the past three seasons at Iowa State.  

Kelderman appeared in 45 games in his time as a Cyclone and scored 34 points, had 23 assists and 15 steals. He set career highs in points (7) and assists (7) this past season against Alcorn in 15 minutes of action. Kelderman was named to the 2025 Academic All-Big 12 First Team and to the 2024 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team.

Kelderman started all 51 games in his junior and senior seasons at Waukee Northwest and helped lead the Wolves to back-to-back Iowa State Tournament appearances, including a championship game appearance in 2023. He was second on the team with a 16.7 points per game average as a senior while averaging 5.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Across his junior and senior seasons, he knocked down 78 3-pointers at a 45.3% clip, shot 54.3% from the floor and held a 286 to 111 assist-to-turnover ratio.
