Campus Resources for Emotional Wellness

  • The Student Counseling Center (SCC) is here for you to help make the most of your years at USD. Clicking here will give information about services, staff, campus resources, and crisis management. (Cook House)
    • Some of the services offered by the SCC can be found here.
  • The University of South Dakota offers victim advocacy with resources for sexual assault policies, sexual misconduct, and tips for what to do following an assault.
  • Our Nutrition Program is headed by USD strength and conditioning coach Clete McCLeod. His contact information can be found here.
  • Alcohol & Other Drug Counseling -- This page has alcohol and drug services available along with co-occurring disorder services.
  • All of the campus dining hours and different entities can be found here.
  • The Wellness Center on campus is available to all students and their hours can be found here.
  • South Dakota Sports Medicine is where Coyotes go to heal. This is the USD Sports Medicine home page with the staff, faculty and resources all on this page.

Community Resources for Emotional Wellness

  • The Student Health Services page gives information on the Sanford Vermillion Medical Center.
  • The Psychological Services Center provides assessment and therapy sessions and is a confidential resource.
  • The surrounding areas of Yankton, Sioux City, Canton and Sioux Falls all have great resources, which can be found here.
  • The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous. Provides free resources for people at any stage of their recovery journey, along with a local AA meeting directory.
  • NCAA Nutrition Resources. The healthy performance of college athletes is foundational to the work of the NCAA Sport Science Institute. That's why we promote adequate nutrition, hydration, sleep, science-driven strength and conditioning efforts and the responsible use of supplements consistent with NCAA drug policies.
  • NCAA Sleep Resources is an excellent sleep management resource for student-athletes.
  • NCAA Teammate Support Resources is an excellent team dynamic resource for student-athletes.
  • Drug Free Sport Axis is a great source for nutrition, health and wellness, and other dietary information.
