Named to two all-American teams: AFCA (2^nd team) and Associated Press (third team) … first-team all-MVFC honoree … one of 29 Coyotes who competed in all 13 games and earned 11 starts at rush linebacker … led the Valley and ranked ninth nationally with 9.5 sacks … led the team and ranked fifth in the Valley in tackles-for-loss with 11.0 … totaled 44 tackles in all including 21 solo stops … credited with four pass breakups and six quarterback hurries … was named MVFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the team’s 14-7 win at No. 10 Southern Illinois … tied the program record for most sacks in a game with 4.0 against the Salukis and came up with the defensive play of the game in the closing seconds … batted a 4^th-and-goal pass into the air and it was intercepted by teammate Blake Holden to secure the win … had another monster game earlier in the season when he had six tackles and 3.5 sacks in a home win against Lamar (9/16) … equaled his season high of six tackles in a 14-10 win against No. 10 North Dakota (11/11)

2022
One of 21 Coyotes who competed in all 11 games and earned seven starts along the defensive line … totaled 23 tackles including 4.0 for loss and 3.0 sacks … tied for second on the team in sacks with the fourth-most tackles-for-loss … led the team with seven quarterback hurries and was credited with a pass breakup … three of those hurries came on the road at Illinois State (10/15) … had four tackles including a sack and 1.5 for loss in the home win against Missouri State (11/5) … also had four tackles with a sack in week two at Montana (9/10) … MVFC honor roll member

2021
Battled through injuries throughout the year yet still competed in all 12 games and earned 10 starts … finished third on the team with 4.0 sacks and was fourth on the team with 8.5 tackles-for-loss … totaled 23 tackles on the year with 12 solo stops … was credited with two quarterback hurries … had two sacks in the 34-21 upset of 16^th-ranked UNI (10/16) … had four tackles including 2.5 for loss and a sack in the Valley opener at Missouri State (9/25) … aided a defense that ranked 24^th nationally against the run (121 ypg) and 35^th overall (343 ypg) … unit was the last team nationally to allow a rushing touchdown to a running back (game seven) … Coyotes ranked 23^rd nationally in scoring defense (20.7 ppg) … MVFC honor roll member

2020-21
Season was reduced to four games in the spring due to COVID-19 ... was a starter on the defensive line in the season-opening win at No. 7 Illinois State where he logged two tackles (2/27) … competed in all four games and totaled seven tackles in all … was not charged a year of eligibility due to NCAA rules related to the pandemic ... MVFC Honor Roll member

2019
One of 20 redshirt freshmen who competed for the Coyotes … played in 11 of 12 games and earned his first collegiate start at Western Illinois (11/2) … had a season-high four tackles and had two pass breakups against the Leathernecks … came back a week later with four tackles, including two for loss, and another breakup in the win against Youngstown St (11/9) … made his Coyote debut in the  season-opener against 25^th-ranked Montana … totaled 10 tackles in all and was credited with two quarterback hurries

Multi-sport star who excels at both football and track and field at Urbandale ... all-state performer and three-time all-conference honoree who compiled more than 160 stops on the gridiron for the Crusaders ... finished with 27 tackles-for-loss including 19 sacks ... also forced five fumbles, broke up 10 passes and blocked two kicks ... led Buhler to the state title game in 2016 ... consistent state qualifier in track and field and a finalist in the triple jump, shot put and 400-meter relay last season ... also competed in basketball and wrestling for the Crusaders
