Boyer Bouman

Boyer Bouman arrives in Vermillion following a fine collegiate career at Southwest Minnesota State. Bouman spent five seasons as a quarterback with the football program where he was a three-time Academic All-NSIC honoree and was a second-team All-NSIC selection in 2019 after leading the league in passing yards per game and total offense. Bouman completed 200-of-332 pass attempts for 2,339 yards with 14 touchdowns in being named SMSU's Offensive Player of the Year following the 2019 season.

Bouman was part of one of the best seasons in USD program history. The Coyotes made their second playoff appearance in five years in the fall of 2021 and served as hosts for the first time at the FCS level. South Dakota toppled three nationally-ranked teams and tied for third in the Valley standings with a 5-3 record, the Coyotes' highest placing in the MVFC.

The Coyotes boasted five players on the 2021 all-conference team and another five earned honorable mention. Included on the list were left tackle Alex Jensen, running back Travis Theis, tight end Brett Samson and receivers Wesley Eliodor and Carter Bell.

Bouman started his coaching career on the sidelines at Southwest Minnesota State where he worked primarily with wide receivers. He graduated from SMSU with a degree in education and sports management.
