Steve Ferentz joined Bob Nielson's staff in the summer of 2022. He works primarily with the outside linebackers group.

He joins the Coyotes after three seasons with the Miami Dolphins, where he was an assistant linebackers coach for three seasons since 2020.

Prior to his time with the Dolphins, Ferentz served as a graduate assistant at Central Michigan University, where he also primarily worked with the Chippewas linebacker corps for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. 

Ferentz played tight end and offensive line for the University of Iowa from 2012-16. He was a junior on Iowa’s Rose Bowl team (2015 season) and competed in eight games as a senior in 2016 when the Hawkeyes competed in the Outback Bowl.
 
Ferentz is married to Annie Ferentz. He is the youngest child of Kirk and Mary Ferentz, the head football coach at University of Iowa.
