University of South Dakota Athletics

Johnny Trueblood joined the Coyote basketball staff as a graduate assistant prior to the 2020-21 season. 

A graduate of the University of Nebraska, Trueblood majored in business administration and earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2019. 

As a member of the Huskers in 2015-16 and 2017-19, Trueblood played in 34 games and was a two-time member of the Academic All-Big Ten Team and earned NABC Honors Court honors in 2018. 

A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Trueblood attended Elkhorn South High School where he currently holds the school record for single-season scoring (598). He led his team to to the school's first state title his senior season as well as leading Class B in scoring with 23.0 points per game on his way to Class B Player of the Year honors. 

Trueblood is pursuing his master's degree at USD.
