This is Hansman's second stint with the Coyotes, as he served as the diving coach from 2006-09. Last season, he coached the Summit League women's Diver of the Year Greysen Hertting. In his first stint, he was a two-time North Central Conference Diving Coach of the Year winner and coached Coyote diver Jill Smolczyk, who won the NCAA Division II national 1-meter diving championship in 2008. In addition, Emilie Kluth finished fourth at the nationals in 1-meter diving. Under his leadership in 2006-07, the Coyote diving squad put together five All-American performances and two Honorable Mention All-American performances at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Meet.
Hansman arrived at USD fresh off a three-year stint where he served as a coach with the Oshkosh North High School Diving team as well as being an assistant diving coach at his alma mater, Wisconsin-Oshkosh. While attending UWO, he was a seven-time conference champion and four-time All-American. He also received the UWO Diver of the Year Award in both 2003 and 2004.
Hansman has worked as a sales consultant for UniFirst since Aug. 2009 and also served as diving coach at Seymour High School in Wisconsin.
